Connect Termii to PHPNuxBill
Send PHPNuxBill messages through your Termii account, with your own approved sender ID.
Before you start
- A Routely account. If you have not signed up yet, install the plugin and sign up inside PHPNuxBill first (how it works).
- A Termii account with some credit.
- A sender ID that Termii has approved for you. Messages from an unapproved sender ID are refused.
- Your Termii API key.
Add Termii as a gateway
- In PHPNuxBill open Routely, then SMS, then Gateways.
- Under Add a gateway, choose Termii from the list.
- Give it a name you will recognise, for example "Termii main".
- API endpoint: each Termii account has its own. The usual address is already filled in. If your Termii dashboard shows a different one (Settings, API token), copy that one instead.
- API key: paste the key from your Termii dashboard (Settings, API token). It is stored encrypted and is never shown again.
- Sender ID: 3 to 11 letters or numbers, exactly as approved in your Termii account.
- Channel: bills, codes and reminders are transactional messages. Choose DND if Do Not Disturb routing is switched on for your Termii account. The generic channel cannot reach numbers that are on Do Not Disturb.
- Messages per minute: 60 is filled in. Lower it if you want to send more gently.
- Press Add gateway. Routely checks your key with Termii before saving, and tells you if Termii refuses it.
Send a test message
- On the same page, find Send a test message.
- Under Send through pick your Termii gateway. Picking one gateway tests it alone, with no fallback to another.
- Enter a phone number with the country code, for example
2348012345678, and press Send test. - Open SMS, then History. The message shows as sent when Termii has accepted it.
If it does not work
- Termii did not accept the key. Copy the key again from the Termii dashboard and make sure there is no space before or after it.
- The message failed. History shows the reason Termii gave. The usual causes are an empty balance and a sender ID that is not approved.
- The gateway is resting. After three failed messages in a row a gateway rests for five minutes, and messages go to your next gateway. Fix the cause, then press Use again now on the gateway.
- "Sent" means Termii accepted the message. It does not promise the phone has received it yet.
